HOUSE OF PRAYER

Introduction & Vision:
Welcome to our House of Prayer in Sturbridge.
Part of our function as a local fellowship is to engage in a lifestyle of corporate intercession for the regional body of Christ and for revival amongst the unbelieving community. We gather every workday for prayer, Monday through Friday, from 6am till 7:30am and from 10:30am till noon. It is our desire for and counsel to our local church body that every member be involved in a minimum of one prayer meeting each week.
Sturbridge Worship Center is committed to being one of our region’s driving forces in bringing forth a center for 24 hour a day worship and intercession. We believe that God is establishing His international house of prayer all across the earth. It is our commission from the Lord to provide laborers, resources and modeling for the body of Christ in this region for the purpose of establishing a night and day prayer covering over Central New England.

Harp and Bowl Model:
A term derived from Revelation 5:8, describing the elders before the throne with harps (representing worship with music) and a bowl of incense (representing the prayers of God’s people). This is the basic model of our prayer meetings—combining worship and prayer.
We use two formats: Intercessory and Devotional Prayer. Intercession is intimate partnership and agreement with what God promised to do, it is expressed by declaring what He will do. Intercession is the means by which God’s will is established on earth. Devotional Prayer is a prayer format designed to provide an anointed worshipful atmosphere for meditation on scripture and for lingering in the presence of God. Worship is the expression of our hearts that are moved by the Holy Spirit declaring our love and affection to Him.

Prayer Topics:
Right now we have a total of 11 weekly prayer meetings, here is a short description of the different intercessory prayer topics.
Global Body of Christ: The body of Christ is called to stand with one another as one, praying for His bride is essential. Jesus lives to make intercession for us. We want to see Jesus’ bride equipped, empowered, living in a place of intimacy, partnering with the heart of God, bringing His Kingdom on the earth as it is in heaven, shining as a city on a hill and preparing the way of the Lord because Jesus is coming back!
Nations: Ask of me and I will give you the nations as your inheritance. The knowledge of the glory of God will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. Those are just a few of the prophetic promises that God gives to us so that we may boldly declare them and speak them into existence. We pray prophetic promises in God’s Word, we pray for our upcoming mission trips to various nations and we pray into current needs and crises in the nations.
Sturbridge Worship Center: As the early church in the book of Acts came together regularly to seek the Lord in prayer, we also come together in unity to bring the needs and people of Sturbridge Worship Center before God, and to call forth the prophetic destiny placed upon this place.
Apostolic Prayers: The apostolic prayers are simply put the prayers prayed by the apostles. Those prayers are inspired by the Holy Spirit and were addressing the different churches of that time to strengthen them in their calling. The apostolic prayers are a great tool for us today to intercede for the church of Jesus Christ today.
Government: The bible teaches us very clearly to pray for ALL those in authority, so that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. America needs to be invaded by the Kingdom of God; the praying saints through prayer have the authority to bring His Kingdom on the earth as it is in heaven.
7 Mountains of Society: The seven mountains of society are seven mind molding mountains that are influencing every city and culture. By prayer we want to see a transformation of those mountains (family, church, education, business, government, entertainment, media)
Israel: We partner with God’s heart by interceding for the nation of Israel so that they may walk in their full destiny. We pray for and partner with Messianic Jews who are living in Israel. We pray for the operation and visitation of the Holy Spirit in the nation of Israel.
