HAITI RELIEF

Thank you for your interest regarding Haiti Relief work with Sturbridge Worship Center in Haiti. The January 12, 2010 earthquake, which international experts say will take decades to recover from, has devastated the small island nation.

Sturbridge Worship Center is scheduling relief teams in Haiti throughout the year – to provide medical clinics, construction and clean-up crews, alongside investment into local industry and provision of organizational and administration help. We had a team on location during the January 12 earthquake and sent down an assessment team on January 28. The next team departs on February 23, then on March 12, again in April, and so forth as
volunteers available.

Each team will be led by a team leader from Sturbridge Worship Center, and will consist of volunteers from different backgrounds. Though teams will be working in a distinctly Christian environment, those with no faith or other faith backgrounds are most welcome to apply provided you are willing to respect the people around you and the Christ-centered atmosphere in which you will find yourself. We will determine the function of each team based upon the timing of the deployment and the skill composition of the team. Our schedule in Haiti will consistently be a response to available resources and current needs and therefore the earliest deployment teams will most likely have the least definition and will be responsive to situational opportunities and dynamics.

Skilled Volunteers that are most needed:

Structural Engineers
Medical teams including doctors, nurses, EMT's
Construction & Clean up crews
Mechanics
General labor
Other related skills

– and those willing with a willing heart to serve

Travel Insurance
$200 a week for Mission provision of food (other options are possible; please inquire)
$200 overhead charge for 1-2 weeks. $400 max overhead charge for 2 weeks or more.
